Richmond Ballet - Richmond Ballet was founded in 1957 by local dance enthusiasts as a performance outlet for students in local dance programs. It existed for more than twenty years as a small, civic company until 1975 when the School of Richmond Ballet was created. In 2000 Richmond Ballet moved into a newly renovated state-of-the-art Facility at 407 East Canal Street in the heart of downtown Richmond. The spectacular building boasts 53,500 square feet.
Richmond Symphony - The Richmond Symphony was founded in 1957 by a small, dedicated group of music-lovers who desired to provide Central Virginia with a professional orchestra. The Symphony performed only three concerts in its inaugural season; today, the orchestra makes more than 200 public appearances each season.
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts - Since opening in 1936, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has developed an art collection of global scope and international significance, and it has established a network of partnerships to bring a wide array of exhibitions and programs to audiences throughout the Commonwealth. A distinctive pairing of State support and private funding has made these achievements possible. Now VMFA is poised to play a greater role as a cultural destination and center for visual arts and education in Virginia. As a major museum of world art, the Museum is primed to serve as a catalyst for community interaction and for cultural exchanges nationally and internationally.
